At Opalhouse Homeware, we want you to love your globally-inspired home decor as much as we do. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase of our designer area rugs, bedding collections, or home fragrances, we’re happy to offer returns or exchanges within 15 days of receiving your order.
Please note: For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on opened bath products (bath towels, bathroom rugs & mats), beauty items, or used candles & home fragrances. All returned items must be in their original packaging with tags attached.
Our Return Process
Like carefully coordinating your home’s aesthetic, we’ve designed our return process to be simple and stress-free:
- Initiate Your Return: Email our customer care team at [email protected] within 15 days of delivery with your order number and details about the item(s) you wish to return or exchange. You may use our Return Request Template below.
- Receive Authorization: Our Memphis-based team will respond within 2 business days with return instructions and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
- Package Your Items: Carefully repackage your items (bedroom benches, decorative objects, etc.) in their original packaging with all tags attached. Include a copy of your order confirmation.

- Processing: Once received, our team will inspect your returned items within 3-5 business days. You’ll receive email notification when your refund or exchange is processed.
Refund Details
Your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 7-10 business days after we receive and approve your return. Please note:
- Credit card refunds may take 1-2 billing cycles to appear on your statement
- PayPal refunds are typically processed within 24 hours of our approval
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable (except for defective items)
- For exchanges, we’ll ship your new item once the return is received

Exchange Policy
We’re happy to exchange your Opalhouse items for a different size, color, or product (like swapping your floor lamp for a different style). Simply follow the return process above and indicate you’d like an exchange. Please note:
- Exchanges are subject to product availability
- Price differences will be charged/refunded as applicable
- New shipping fees apply for exchanges unless the original item was defective
Damaged or Defective Items
If your bedroom furniture, accent rugs, or other items arrive damaged or defective, please contact us immediately at [email protected] with photos of the damage. We’ll arrange for a replacement or refund and cover return shipping costs.
Designer Tip: Before returning that beautiful but not-quite-right decorative object, consider how it might work in another space! Sometimes our most unexpected pieces become favorite accents when given a second chance.
